Year 12 Retreat
Class of 2025
Last week, Year 12 students started second term by immediately engaging in their Year 12 retreat activities. Beginning on Tuesday, students were visited by Burn Bright, where they participated in three sessions on-site at Kildare. These sessions focused on building their foundations as leaders and thinking about the legacy they wish to leave behind as they graduate from high school. Working together in groups and as a whole cohort, students explored ways to build healthy relationships while reflecting on their values and visions for the future. They then supplemented the day with a barbecue all together down at the Mt Erin Grotto.
These activities with Burn Bright set the tone for the rest of the week, as students set off on Thursday morning for an overnight trip to Warrumbui. The activities at Warrumbui were coordinated by Susie Edmonds and focused on individual personal development and team dynamics. Students worked alongside Susie, staff and one another to look at the journey that has brought them to Year 12 and what comes after. This included a number of team-building activities and games, as well as moments of reflection and affirmation.
Thursday night concluded with a prayerful experience at the fire-pit as a cohort, before Year 12 joined together for a ‘Rhyme without Reason’ themed dance party. Come Friday morning, the brave ventured out for a sunrise walk to three life-size crosses on the hill before we concluded the retreat and journeyed home.
Thank you to all our Year 12s for their enthusiastic participation and engagement, alongside the staff who came along to support.
