U15 Girls Soccer Triumph at Wagga Gala Day!
Our talented U15 girls soccer team showcased their skill and determination at the Combined Wagga High Schools Gala Day held at Rawling Park on Thursday, April 3rd.
The girls kicked off the pool stage with two hard-fought 1-1 draws against Mater Dei Catholic College and Kooringal High School. Finishing second in their pool, Kildare progressed to the semi-final, where they faced TRAC. In an exciting match, the team secured a fantastic 2-0 victory, earning their place in the final.
The final saw a rematch against Kooringal High School. It was a nail-biting contest, with neither team able to break the deadlock during regular time. The tension mounted as the game went to a penalty shootout. Our girls held their nerve brilliantly, securing a fantastic 4-2 win!
A huge congratulations to our U15 girls soccer team on their outstanding achievement in winning the gala day trophy for an incredible third year in a row! Their teamwork, skill, and resilience were truly impressive.

BISSA Cross Country
The air in Narrandera was alive with energy as young athletes from across the region gathered for the BISSA Cross Country. Held on Monday, May 12th, the picturesque landscape of Narrandera Race Course provided a stunning backdrop for a day of spirited competition and impressive athletic displays.
From the first race to the last, the enthusiasm of the participants was palpable. Secondary students from across the region took to the diverse course with determination, navigating undulating terrain and trails of the pony club and race track. The cheers of supportive parents, teachers, and fellow students echoed across the Narrandera race course, creating an encouraging atmosphere for all involved.
While the focus remained on participation and sportsmanship, there were undoubtedly some standout performances. Stella Flinn came a close second overall in the 13 Girls age group, but was first against the Catholic Schools competing.
The following students also had a successful day and qualified for the CCC Cross Country in Sydney next month: John Turnbull, Leni Stenhouse, Indi Bunt, Stella Flinn, Pip Lashbrook, Beau Bradley, Hakan Colak, Ethan Barrell and Abbie Clarke. We wish these students all the best for their races in June.

Netball NSW All Schools Cup
Kildare Catholic College was proudly represented by three enthusiastic netball teams at the Netball NSW All Schools Cup held at Equex on Thursday, May 1st. We entered two spirited Year 7/8 teams and a determined Year 9/10 team, all eager to showcase their skills against schools from across the Wagga region.
Our talented students faced off against teams from Kooringal High School, The Riverina Anglican College (TRAC), St Mary MacKillop College, Mater Dei Catholic College, and Wagga Wagga Christian College. Each of our Kildare teams played a total of six games throughout the day, demonstrating not only impressive netball prowess but also fantastic sportsmanship in every match.
A huge congratulations to our Year 7/8 Navy team who had an outstanding performance, going through the entire competition undefeated! Their hard work, teamwork, and skill have earned them a well-deserved spot in the Regional Final, which will be held right here in Wagga in September. We wish them the very best of luck as they continue their netball journey!
The success of the day wouldn't have been possible without the generous support of our dedicated umpires and coaches. Their guidance and encouragement were invaluable to our students, and we extend our sincere gratitude for their time and commitment.
Well done to all our netball players for representing Kildare Catholic College with such pride and enthusiasm! We look forward to cheering on our Year 7/8 Navy team in the Regional Finals.
