Prayer of Thanks for Blessed Edmund Rice Feast Day 5th May
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
O God, we thank you for the life of Edmund Rice. He opened his heart to Christ present in those oppressed by poverty and injustice. May we follow his example of faith and generosity. Grant us the courage and compassion of Edmund as we seek to live lives of love and service.
O God, faithful rewarder of souls, grant that your departed servant Pope Francis, whom you made successor of Peter and shepherd of your Church, may happily enjoy forever in your presence in heaven the mysteries of your grace and compassion, which he faithfully ministered on earth. Amen.
Rest in Peace P0PE FRANCIS.
We are continuing our journey through this year of Hope, mainly exploring what the Catholic Church has given us, in our Religion classes.
The theological virtue of hope is the power by which we desire the Kingdom of Heaven as our happiness, placing our trust in Christ's promises and relying not on our own strength, but on the grace of the Holy Spirit. Jesus will give us the graces that we need for the journey to Heaven.
By participating in prayer, liturgies, community service, and acts of kindness, we will deepen our connection with one another and strengthen our shared mission of making the world a better place. We can easily do this at school by practicing Faith, Care, Justice, and positive behaviour for Learning.
We are continuing with the Alpha Youth program at our college this term. Alpha Youth Series is a new way for young people to explore life, faith and purpose. The series introduces and explores the core ideas of the Christian faith, in a relevant and engaging way.
We are very grateful for Fr John Baptist from St Michael’s Cathedral Parish, who is continuing his Friday visits to pray with us before the Blessed Sacrament during lunchtime at 1:40 pm in Mt Erin Chapel. Blessed Carlo Acutis said:
“The Sacrament of the Eucharist: My Highway to Heaven.”
Please visit HERE for Mass, Confession, Blessed Sacrament Exposition times at St. Michael’s Cathedral.
Kind Regards
