Principal Message

Last evening saw the extremely successful opening night of High School Musical at the Wagga Wagga Civic Centre involving over 120 Kildare students. Many months of effort after school and at weekends has gone into bringing this to fruition. The production has been led by a very generous team of staff with Ms Clem Patterson, Ms Mel Hale, Ms Louise Baker, Mr Strauss Human, Ms Samantha Taylor, Ms Daine Pulver, Mr Tom Pulver, Ms Amanda Yeo, Mr Ash Smith and many more staff at the helm.
With six shows to go please book tickets HERE so you don’t miss out. It’s a great night out and this is an unforgettable experience for all the students involved. We are very grateful to the staff and supporters who have done such a wonderful job with the production. Well done!
We’d like to congratulate our entire community on the outstanding result in our Caritas- Project Compassion fundraising through Lent of $5500, the highest we can recall, certainly 2½ times the past two year’s results. Our SRC led the way and the competition between homegroups certainly created a wonderful momentum that carried the effort right through Lent. Well done to everyone. Mr Michael McGirr, Head of Mission for Caritas, sent his congratulations via video to the students also. A wonderful effort by everyone!
You will have been notified earlier this week that Bishop Mark Edwards has appointed Ms Christie Scutti, our Assistant Principal as the Interim Principal of Kildare from the start of Term 3. A wonderful choice! I have enormous regard for Christie and know that she will lead with passion and care in the best interests of the students of the college. Christie and the Leadership Team will continue forward with our great work in Learning, Wellbeing and Faith & Mission as set out in our Annual Improvement Plan and Strategic Plan. I wish Christie every success and ask you to support her as she takes on this significant responsibility.
The recent appointment of Pope Leo XIV has been a cause for great celebration and we look forward to the leadership he will provide. In learning more about this deeply impressive pontiff we see a great alignment of his missionary experience and leadership with the charisms of Edmund Rice and Nano Nagle that inspire our faith life at Kildare. To get a sense of him we need only read his first words upon his election , his speech to the faithful in Vatican Square: Speech We pray for his success.
This week we held our interviews for Year 7 families for 2026. 120 interviews were held with may more to come in the next couple of weeks as we near our quota of over 200 for next year. With those happening it is timely to remind our community of a few things:
We are enrolling into other years including boarders. Please refer to this Website Link for Enrolments
Please submit all of the requested paperwork with your application for it to progress
Younger children of existing families, siblings, seeking enrolment still need to submit a full application and book in for interview.

A further appeal: Our Kildare Catholic College Advisory Council is seeking two members to replace parents whose children have finished school. The guidelines for the council are here: Guidelines If you have any questions please call me at the college or email brownec3@ww.catholic.edu.au We meet four times a year and we really value this group as a key sounding board for the college leadership. In closing we have a very busy sport program this term and we wish all the best to the boys and girls playing in competitions across a range of sports-AFL, basketball, netball, league tag, rugby 7’s and rugby league. We wish them great success!
God Bless
