Cross Country
What a day!!
The sun was shining brightly for the duration of the event after we couldn’t see each other in the fog early in the morning whilst setting up!! The students arrived to see an oval of colour and music and were super excited at running the course.
Our House captains and year 6s lead us off with their event with our two winners in year 6 – Sienna and Flynn.
The year 5s ran next with our two winners on the day- Maya and Elliot (Year 4 competing in year 5 age group).
Our little year 3s were next following our year 6 Hares who led them off around the track and supported and cheered the students on. Our winners in year 3 were- Zara and Archie.
Last but certainly the fastest were our year 4s who sprinted after waiting so long to race and did a wonderful job of running and just enjoying the atmosphere. Our year 4 winners were- Lottie and Xavier.
Our multi class runner and winner was Xander Brook.
Special congratulations to all our top 10 finishers who will now go on to compete next Wednesday 20th May and Dendy Park.

PE NEWS- Term 2
This term, our Year 3–6 students have been developing their understanding of spatial awareness in game situations.
The Year 3/4 students are currently completing a learning task focused on positioning themselves effectively on the court or field.
They are exploring what it means to attack and defend and learning how movement and positioning can support successful teamwork and gameplay.
Our Year 5/6 students have been building on these concepts by refining and coordinating their movements so that they become more natural and instinctive during games. Their learning has focused on lacrosse and, more recently, soccer, where they have been developing and practising fundamental skills. Students have then applied these skills in small-sided games, allowing them to extend their understanding and confidence in real game situations.
Our prep students have been exploring the fundamentals of catching and are beginning to practise underarm throwing techniques. They have also been developing their accuracy and tracking skills by learning to watch and follow the ball carefully. A variety of fun games and small-group activities have supported students in building confidence and improving these skills.
Students in Years 1 and 2 have been focusing on bouncing, kicking and developing their overarm throwing techniques. Through skill-based games and partner activities, students have been reinforcing these fundamental movement skills while building coordination, control and confidence.
