St Norbert Day Attendance – Senior School Vocational Pathway Students

A highlight of the College calendar is St Norbert Day, a special occasion that brings our community together in celebration. This year, it will be celebrated at the College on Friday, 5 June 2026 (Week 7). This year, students will take part in a range of activities off campus.

Students undertaking Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathways are encouraged to attend, provided their workplace attendance remains satisfactory. Those who wish to attend the College celebration in place of their usual TAFE or traineeship commitments are required to submit an Out of School Learning Variation Form for approval. Further information about the program and activities will be shared in the coming weeks.

Year 12 Student Declaration and Permission – Due Thursday, 27 August

As part of the academic requirements for Year 12, all students must complete the Student Declaration and Permission online by Thursday, 27 August.

This process is essential for students intending to achieve the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) and/or sit the ATAR course examinations. The declaration involves students confirming their understanding of the requirements for achieving the WACE and for participating in the ATAR examinations.

These requirements have been outlined through a range of sources, including the Year 12 Parent and Student Information Evening, the Senior School Curriculum Handbooks available on the Subject Selection Portal, and the SCSA Year 12 Information Handbook 2026, accessible online.

Students and their families are strongly encouraged to discuss these requirements together before completing the declaration. It is particularly important that students under the age of 18 have parental or carer guidance prior to submission.

Year 11 and 12 Examination Period – 2026

Over the coming weeks, our Year 11 and 12 students will be preparing for their Semester One examinations and finalising key assessments that contribute to their mid-year reports. During the examination period, students in the ATAR pathway are required to attend the College only when they have scheduled exams. However, they are encouraged to come in at other times to access teacher support and revision opportunities as needed.

Students undertaking vocational pathways are expected to continue attending all timetabled classes, TAFE, or traineeship commitments as usual from Monday, 25 May to Thursday, 4 June 2026, with Friday, 5 June set aside for the celebration of St Norbert Day. All students are reminded that full College Uniform is to be worn at all times during the examination period, whether attending examinations or other learning commitments. We ask our College community to keep our senior students in your prayers as they navigate this important and busy time.

Pilgrimage of Migrant Jubilee Cross: Liturgy of the Word

On Tuesday 21 April, St Norbert College students along with St Joseph Primary students were invited to share in a Liturgy of the Word to celebrate the Pilgrimage of Migrant Jubilee Cross at St Joachim’s Church, Ursula Frayne Catholic College. The Migrant Cross encompasses the Southern Cross in its design and contains a relic of the Holy Family and a piece of the cedar wood coffin of St Mary MacKillop.

Nicole Villanueva, Melvin Sayula, Ethan Sayula and Jarrah Swan contributed in processing the Migrant Cross and  processing portraits of St Frances Xavier Cabirni and St John Baptist Scalabrini.  These students also read for the Liturgy of the word to recognise and acknowledge the rich diversity of migrants and the rich contribution made by migrants to society.

This will be followed by Morning Tea which will be supplied to the student by the College. Student will then watch the Staff vs Student Soccer Match and then students will meet in group and leave for their afternoon activities.

This year, the majority of St Norbert Day activities will be held off site at external providers. Student have been sent out a survey this week to choose and rate the options for activities provided on St Norbert Day. From this, students will be placed in an activity from one of their choices and will be notified by email when this is completed. In Week 4, Parent/Caregivers will receive a Consent2Go email which will be sent out by Activity Coordinators. Parents are asked to please promptly provide consent for the activity and if required, pay for the activity via Consent2Go. Mothers Day Breakfast

St Norbert College warmly welcomed mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures to a special Mother’s Day Breakfast, bringing together families and students in a spirit of gratitude and community. Held in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere, the event provided an opportunity for students to honour the important women in their lives and to celebrate the care, strength, and guidance they offer each day.

The morning began with a shared breakfast, where guests enjoyed good food and even better company. Laughter and conversation filled the space as families connected, creating a sense of belonging that lies at the heart of the College’s values. Student helpers took pride in hosting their guests, demonstrating appreciation through both small gestures and meaningful presence.
