Around the School

F/1 Learning
Our Foundation/One students have started the term off in Religion by exploring the concept of ‘Wonder’. We started by going on a ‘wonder walk’, looking at the beauty in our environment and using our senses to look, listen, smell and touch. This week, we immersed ourselves through Sacred Storytelling as students were introduced to Genesis’ First Creation Story. We also discussed that for Catholic Christians, 7 is one of the most important numbers in the bible and that while we read this text, the number 7 has a symbolic meaning rather than a literal understanding.
Grade 5/6 Camp
Our Grade 5/6 students made a fantastic start to Term 2 with their recent camp at Lake Dewar Discovery Camp. From the moment they arrived, students embraced the experience with enthusiasm, positivity and a willingness to challenge themselves.
Throughout the camp, students participated in a wide range of activities designed to build teamwork, resilience and confidence. Whether it was stepping outside their comfort zone on the high ropes, working collaboratively through group challenges, or supporting one another in unfamiliar situations, our students consistently demonstrated courage and encouragement.
Camp also provided a valuable opportunity for students to strengthen friendships and build new connections. It was wonderful to see so many examples of kindness, inclusion and leadership across the group, both during activities and in the shared living environment.
We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented our school. Their behaviour, attitude and willingness to have a go were outstanding, and they should be commended for the way they approached every aspect of the camp experience.
A sincere thank you to our staff for their time, care and commitment in making this opportunity possible. Camps like these are such an important part of a child’s learning journey, and this experience will no doubt leave lasting memories for our students.
