BOOK WEEK

Children’s Book Week is The CBCA’s key highlight national event of the year. In its 80th year, this year’s celebration will run from Saturday 16 to Saturday 23 August.

The 2025 theme is Book an Adventure!

CBCA provides the opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate our Australian authors and illustrators. The children in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 are listening to the 6 books in the Early Childhood category, while Year 3-6 students are listening to the 6 books nominated for Picture Book of the Year.

A reminder that children can dress up as a character from a story on Wednesday 20th August.

EMBRACE KIDS PROGRAM

Dear Families,

We are excited to introduce a new initiative in our classroom: the Embrace Kids Program.

This program is designed to help children grow in kindness, compassion, and emotional wellbeing. Through engaging activities, group discussions, and hands-on learning, students will explore themes such as empathy, inclusion, resilience, and gratitude. The goal is to create a positive and supportive environment where every child feels seen, valued, and encouraged to embrace themselves and others.

Throughout the term, your child will take part in weekly lessons that align with their social and emotional development. These sessions may include stories, creative arts, reflection time, and teamwork challenges—all carefully chosen to foster a sense of belonging and self-worth.

We invite you to be part of the journey. You may hear your child sharing what they’ve learned or even be invited to participate in a simple take-home activity. We hope these moments spark meaningful conversations at home and strengthen our school-family connection.

If you have any questions about the Embrace Kids Program or how it will be integrated into the classroom, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Together, let’s help our children embrace the best in themselves and each other.
