From the Head of Junior School

Mrs Virginia Milliken, Head of Junior School

Welcome back to Term 3

We're excited to be back ready for another term full of learning and fun! There are many ways we share and celebrate our learning in the Junior School. We believe learning is an ongoing process and, as such, we provide both formal and informal opportunities for parents to share in their child’s learning journey. We place great importance on our home/school partnerships and recognise that parent’s interest in their child’s education is one of the most important factors towards achieving success.

I would like to thank all our parents and carers who attended Parent Teacher conversations on Monday. These interviews have valuable benefits providing insight into your child's strengths and areas of improvement, helping you support their learning effectively. By engaging with educators we foster a strong partnership, crucial for your child’s educational journey.

AMAZING ME workshop

Parents and students in Years 5 and 6 will have the opportunity to participate in our annual AMAZING ME workshop. AMAZING ME specialises in providing primary aged children, parents, and educators with positive and empowering information. It reinforces the important message of respecting others and appreciating we are all incredibly unique, diverse and AMAZING! The power of this experience is the opportunity to start a conversation with children. To assist in continuing the conversation families can visit www.amazingme.com.au

Gowrie NSW Kinross Wolaroi OSHC

Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) programs are crucial as they offer a safe and supervised environment for children before and after school, allowing parents to manage their work commitments more effectively. Additionally, OSHC programs provide children with opportunities for social interaction, homework support, and engaging activities that promote their overall development.

Recently Gowrie NSW Kinross Wolaroi OSHC, located at Kinross Wolaroi Junior School, was assessed for their Full Assessment and Rating by the NSW Department of Education. This is a rigorous process requiring staff to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding in 7 areas rated against the National Quality Standard. GOWRIE NSW Kinross Wolaroi OSHC, was successful in achieving an overall rating of Exceeding National Quality Standard. This rati ng demonstrates the commitment of the Gowrie staff and their dedication to providing exceptional care and education, ensuring the highest standards for the Kinross Wolaroi children and families that they serve.
