Welcome to Term 3

 

I hope this holiday period has been a relaxing and enjoyable time, and I trust our students are well-rested and ready for a busy term ahead. 

 

I would like to extend a special acknowledgment to the students and staff who dedicated their time, energy, and enthusiasm to a range of enriching activities over the Term 2 break. These experiences not only reflect the diverse interests within our school community but also highlight the commitment to personal growth, teamwork, and excellence that we value so highly. 

 

Special mention goes to those involved in the following programs: 

  • Henley Royal Regatta – Our rowing crews proudly represented the school on the international stage at this prestigious event. Their preparation, discipline, and performance were outstanding. 

    Fawley Cup Crew – Harry Dymock, Toby Buckland, Nick Tancred, and Oliver Smith 

    Prince Phillip Crew – Tessa Wong, Laura Chudleigh, Emily Wise, Rahni Jarick, Lucy Reidy, Olivia Searle, Xanthe Staniforth, Bell Clinton coxed by Phillipa Martin 

  • Cadet Promotions Camp – Students engaged in leadership development and practical training, preparing for future roles within our Cadet Unit. Their dedication to service and teamwork was commendable. 
  • Ski Trip – Participants enjoyed a week of alpine adventure, building resilience, camaraderie, and confidence in a dynamic outdoor setting. 
  • Musical Preparations – Cast and crew continued rehearsals and production work for our upcoming school musical. Their creativity and commitment during the break have set the stage for a fantastic performance week. 
  • Representative Rugby – During the Term 2 holidays, several KWS students participated in outstanding representative Rugby opportunities at both state and national levels:

  • Sam Hill – Selected for the NSW U16 Schools I team  
  • Oscar Cleary – Represented NSW Schools II (Opens)  
  • Harper Shaw – Represented NSW Schools II (Opens)  
  • Lilly Clarke – Selected for the NSW II Girls U18s 7s squad  

NSW Country Rugby Selections: 

  • Maddy O’Brien – NSW U18 Girls Country Squad  
  • Liv Gordon – NSW U14 Girls Country Squad  
  • Reuben Cleary – NSW U14 Boys Country Squad  
  • Xavier Zinga – NSW U15 Country Black Squad

We are incredibly proud of all students and staff who contributed to these programs and look forward to seeing the continued impact of these experiences throughout the term. 

Senior School Musical

We invite you to join us for Aladdin Jr., Kinross Wolaroi School’s spectacular Senior School Musical at the Orange Civic Theatre.

2025/2026 Student Leadership Applications 

Year 11 students are reminded that leadership applications are due by Wednesday 23 July at 1:00pm. All details have been circulated via the Hub. Applications should be emailed to Ms Alex Dunkley, Senior Years Coordinator, at adunkley@kws.nsw.edu.au  

Subject Selection Information 

A reminder to Year 8 and Year 10 students and families that subject selections for 2026 are due by the end of Week 2 – Friday 1 August. These choices play a key role in shaping each student’s learning journey, so we encourage thoughtful conversations at home to support informed decisions. All information has been distributed via the Hub, and the online selection form has been emailed directly to students. Any queries or issues related to the subject selection process should be directed to Mr Trent Dyer, Director of Learning Systems & Analytics, at tdyer@kws.nsw.edu.au  

Uniform and Appearance 

  • Students must ensure their uniform is clean and in good repair for the start of term.  
  • Approved black school shoes and black belts are compulsory (no brown belts or boots).  
  • Anoraks, Japaras, Duffle Coats and Rain Jackets are to be worn as an outer layer over the school jumper or blazer.  
  • Blazers are required for Assembly and Chapel services.  
  • Haircuts, hair accessories and jewellery must comply with the school uniform policy.

To our Year 12 cohort as they prepare for their final term and HSC exams. I look forward to seeing their attitudes and approaches reflect the significance of this period, as they prepare for the final stages of their schooling with focus, resilience, and determination. As Helen Keller said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” By supporting each other, we can achieve great things.
