In Kindergarten, students are making great progress in their reading skills through extensive decoding practice. They are engaging with CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words and building their recognition of high-frequency words, laying a strong foundation for their literacy journey.

In Year 2, we are enhancing reading and writing abilities by exploring digraphs and split vowel digraphs. This focus helps students understand complex sound combinations, further enriching their language skills.

Year 2 have enjoyed their focus on the complex structures in poetry.

In both Kindergarten and Year 2, students are delving into the concept of place value, with a particular emphasis on understanding the importance of the number 10. This fundamental concept is crucial as it forms the basis of our number system and helps students grasp more complex mathematical ideas.

For Year 2, the focus extends to developing strategies to improve accuracy and pace in addition and subtraction. By mastering these skills, students are better equipped to tackle more advanced mathematical problems with confidence and efficiency.

These foundational maths skills are essential for our students' ongoing numeracy development, setting them up for success in future learning.
