Principal Team Update

Hi BPS families,

Book Week celebrations are underway! Our annual Book Fair began yesterday in the SALC and last week our Prep to Year 3 students came together to enjoy a Book Week performance.

Book Week is a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together and celebrate the joy and importance of reading. Recognising Book Week plays a vital role in fostering our students’ love of literature, as they discover the excitement and wonder that books can bring. By engaging with stories, students develop their imagination, empathy, and curiosity about the world around them. Celebrating Book Week through shared reading experiences, creative activities, and our upcoming book character dress-up day makes reading feel fun, meaningful, and inspiring. It also gives students the chance to celebrate and share something special to them, while perhaps inspiring a classmate to discover a new book they may love. We hope these experiences, where books are enjoyed and celebrated, continue to foster our students’ enthusiasm for reading and nurture a lifelong love of literature. Thank you for supporting these events at our school; we truly appreciate everyone’s involvement in making this annual celebration so special.

Our Year 6 students, with the support of Ms Pholi, the Year 6 teachers, and many other staff members, have been working extremely hard in preparation for their upcoming musical, Aladdin. Their dedication and commitment has been outstanding, and we are confident their effort will shine through in their performance. Tickets have been released to Year 6 families first, and information regarding any remaining ticket sales for the wider school community will be shared via Compass. All Beaumaris Primary School students will have the opportunity to attend the dress rehearsal, held during school hours on Friday 29th August.

We hope you have found our recent Topic Spotlight series on Teaching and Learning and Wellbeing at Beaumaris Primary School informative and insightful. This week's instalment is on Literacy and Maths Teaching and Learning. Previous Topic Spotlights can be accessed via our newsletter, available on our school website.

We look forward to hosting our Book Week assembly and parade this coming Friday morning, where the students will have the opportunity to parade their Book Week costume with their classmates. This will be held on the asphalt area shortly after 9am. Families are very welcome to join us.

Kind regards,

David, Grace, Ellen and Keli
