Term 3 has been filled with standout moments for Augustine.
The Athletics Carnival came down to the wire this year, with Augustine trailing Deacon by just three points after Day 1. That challenge only fuelled our determination.
On Day 2, students gave their all in every event and roared each other home from the sidelines, securing our second consecutive win.
In leadership, Year 7/8 Pastoral Leaders Hannah Barnes, Buster McArthur, James Schaefer, and Josie Dugri played a key role in designing and presenting the Year Level assembly. Nicholas Dugri also took part in the “Dare to Lead” Young Leaders Breakfast, gaining valuable insights from Cairns Young Chamber professionals.
Academic success was also a highlight. Sophia Balzarolo and Hannah Barnes proudly represented Augustine in the Year 7/8 Readers Cup, a competition celebrating teamwork and a love of reading. Pepita Prettejohn-Nouhaud achieved an outstanding result with her team, winning the Regional Year 9/10 Readers Cup.
In sport, congratulations to Holly Radcliffe, Madeline Radcliffe, Jasmin Sayed, Andrew Larard, Emerson Smith, and Janre Lourens for qualifying from District Cross Country to the Peninsula trials. Ben Du Plessis also shone at the Rugby League State Championships in Gladstone, finishing ninth overall with the Peninsula team.
Well done to all Augustine students for showing up, giving their best, and supporting one another.
Strength in Unity!
