Along with Catholic schools across Queensland, we celebrated Catholic Education Week in week 3 of this term. Throughout the week students participated in prayer and created artworks that reflect the theme Communities of Faith, Hope and Love.
We kicked off the week’s lunchtime activities with Monday’s bake sale, led by Year 10 students Jazlyn, Cara and Ninke. The students prepared delicious brownies to sell, with all proceeds supporting Rosies Friends on the Street.
Tuesday saw the Year 12 students facing off against the staff in a fierce badminton competition. A fast-paced display of skill and determination was highly entertaining for the onlookers.
On Wednesday the Liturgy Band held a lunchtime concert in the outdoor amphitheatre at the new Innovation Centre building whilst the Year 11's sold sundaes. Students danced up a storm during lunchtime on Thursday with Just Dance games.
During Friday’s Catholic Education Week assembly we awarded Fr Robert Greenup OSA with the St Stephen’s Medal as well as congratulated our Docemus Award nominees. A big congratulations to Mrs Stevens and Mrs Crockford who were nominated in the Secondary Teacher category, as well as Miss Breakspear for Early Career Teaching and Ms Sugars in the category of Leadership.
We also attended the Western Deanery celebrations at St Thomas’s on Friday where the College Captains read, and the Liturgy Band played with the St Thomas’s choir in leading the music at mass.
Regards,
