Grade 6

English

Grade 6 has begun their novel study on the text Nevermoor; a fantasy model by Jessica Townsend. The text is full of adventure, mystery, and imagination, it’s the first book in a series that hooks readers of all ages.

Each day, Grade 6's continue to practice their reading fluency by reading aloud to a partner and receiving feedback.

They are planning and writing narrative texts. Students will be analysing mentor texts to develop their use of literary devices (such as figurative language).

Mathematics

Many students have 'leveled up' in our daily Facts on Fire. This is a testament to their hard work and determination.

Over the next two weeks, students will be learning about:

-Calculating unknown angles.

-Constructing shapes using angle measurements.

-Solving problems involving angles.

-Finding rules for the sum of the interior angles of a polygon.

Inquiry

Grade 6's have finished their bollards and are ready to share them with you at the 150 years 'Walk Through Time' exhibition.

They are currently in the research phase of their 'Legend in the Limelight' projects, which will also be part of the exhibition.
