English 

The Preps will continue their Core Knowledge unit, ‘Exploring and Moving to Australia.’ The students will learn about differentiating between statements and questions and practice writing these.

Students will explore questions such as:

• What does being a refugee mean?
• What are some reasons why people might move to Australia?
• What do families have to learn to build a new life in Australia?
• How can traditions and cultures be shared?

The Preps will learn new sounds in Set 10 including 'ch,' sh' and 'ng.' They will also learn the new high frequency words: it's, see, very, look, don't, because, children.

Mathematics 

Students will be learning about 3D objects and volume. They will also be learning to say and write '-ty' numbers, such as twenty, thirty, forty. 

Inquiry

The students will work on their Little Explorers notebook, adding in maps and drawings about the places they have been learning about in their Core Knowledge unit in Literacy.

This term, we will also be focusing on the history of Barwon Heads as we celebrate 150 years of Barwon Heads Primary School.  In Weeks 7, 8 and 9 the students will be finalising their creations for our Expo, including their shopfront for the Main Street and their Bollard.
