Y10: MUN Conference Incursion

Recently, our Year 10 Select Entry Academic Program (SAP) students took part in a Model United Nations (MUN) Conference as part of their Pre-IB Global Politics studies.

In this dynamic simulation, students stepped into the role of UN Water Council delegates, representing countries from around the world to address the pressing issue of the global water crisis. Dressed in professional attire, they spoke on behalf of their assigned nations, presented resolutions, and proposed amendments aimed at solving water-related challenges.

Throughout the conference, delegates formed alliances, engaged in confident debates, and experienced first-hand how veto powers operate in certain UN councils (though not in the General Assembly). The day was a lively display of diplomacy, teamwork, and critical thinking.

A special congratulations goes to Nada Mumtaz Khan (10C), who received the Best Delegate Award for her outstanding public speaking, negotiation skills, and ability to lead discussions effectively.

Events like this not only enrich our students’ academic knowledge but also build valuable skills in communication, collaboration, and global awareness - preparing them to be active contributors to the world stage.
