Wakakirri

Last week 120 of our students performed as part of the Wakakirri National Performing Arts Festival. Although 120 students performed the story was created and developed through the whole school’s performing arts program, with students co-creating ideas, choreography, music choices, sets, costume choices and projections. It is a project the whole school should feel proud of!

Our performance titled “The Purple Princess and the Castle of Boxes” has received a State Award and we will be performing it again at the Awards Night at the Clocktower on the 12th of September! More details to come…

Our learners at BNWPS are each individually such inspiring performing artists, but they also have an inspiring ability to come together on projects forming a powerful and supportive large group. They are amazing from their very cores and we are always so proud of their achievements. It is really lovely to be recognised for an award but our intention with performing arts is always to share stories, build community and have fun first!

A massive thank you to everyone in our school community for  supporting us with our Wakakirri adventure this year.
