Principal's Message

Welcome back to our Mill Park Heights Community.

I hope you have all had a fabulous fortnight and made the most of some warmer days. It was lovely seeing so many parents and carers attending our recent events and activities. I sincerely thank you for your support.

We have had some fantastic moments over this fortnight; here are our highlights.

  • Year 3-6 Athletics Carnival at Meadow Glen and Foundation – Year 2 Athletics. A huge thank you to Coach Maxwell and Coach Taleski for their amazing organisation. Thank you to all staff for their enthusiasm in supporting both days.
  • Year 5/6 Hoop Time Basketball tournament
  • Year 5/6 Teeball Gala Day
  • Year 6 About Real Life presentations
  • Year 3 / 4 Swimming programs have commenced
  • Foundation – 100 Days of School celebration and parade
  • Foundation inquiry with chickens hatching daily
  • Year 6 attendance at Mill Park Secondary College performance – Bring It On
  • Year 5/6 Whittlesea division Netball tournament
  • Whole school Compass Values emails – staff are on the lookout for students doing great things and highlighting our new Values. Keep an eye out on your Compass inbox
  • Volunteer / Parent Induction information session
  • Breakfast Club – every Wednesday morning, always amazing

As always, these opportunities for our students are supported by daily classroom programs and brilliant teachers. While we have many great things planned, here are a few reminders for our community.

  • 2026 Enrolment – if you have not yet completed your 2026 enrolment forms, please get these in asap. We are collating these numbers in preparation for transition in early Term 4
  • 2026 – are you moving? – we hope we don’t lose any of our amazing F-5 families in 2026, but if you know that you are moving out of the area, can you contact the office and put this information in writing. Other schools will contact us regarding transition of information, and we would like to be prepared.
  • Swimming – any student not participating in swimming will attend an alternative classroom and will complete their water safety booklet rather than walking with the class and completing their book poolside.
  • Tissues – we have gone through our year’s supply of tissues and have noticed many students come to school without any hanky or tissues in their bag. Please consider sending your child with their own mini pack so that they have immediate access to tissues.

Finally, we have been fortunate this week to have received some lovely parent feedback via phone and email and a congratulatory call from a member of our community on the outstanding behaviour of our Year 4 swimmers. This feedback is always passed on to the staff or individuals and this certainly raises morale and positivity. Our staff work tirelessly to support our students, and any positive acknowledgement is truly appreciated. Thank you to those people who chose to send such lovely emails.

Wishing you all a wonderful fortnight

Chris
