Principal's Message

Dear Heavenly Father,
We gather as a St Andrew’s school community, grateful for the gift of a new term.
As we return from our Easter celebrations, we thank you for the hope and renewal that the Resurrection brings into our lives.
Lord, we ask for your blessing upon this term:
For our students: Grant them curiosity and a thirst for knowledge. May they find joy in their learning and kindness in their friendships.
For our teachers: Give them wisdom, patience, and the strength to inspire the young minds in their care.
For our families: Keep them safe and connected, and may our school continue to be a place of welcome and support for all.
As we prepare to honor the ANZAC spirit this week, help us to be people of peace. Guide our footsteps as we walk together in faith, ready to serve one another with the same love You have shown us.
We ask this through Christ our Lord,
Amen.
A very warm welcome back to all our students, staff, and families as we complete the first week of Term 2. I hope your holiday break was a time of rest and renewal. Having recently celebrated the joy and hope of Easter, we now return to school ready to embrace a new term of learning, growth, and community spirit.
As we settle back into our routines, our thoughts naturally turn toward a defining chapter of our national story. ANZAC Day is more than just a date on the calendar; it is a profound opportunity for us, as a Catholic community, to reflect on the values of sacrifice, service, and the pursuit of peace.
Honoring our history at St Andrew’s, we often speak to our students about walking in the footsteps of Christ. There is perhaps no greater resonance with this teaching than the spirit of the ANZACs - those who demonstrated courage, mateship, and selflessness. By pausing to remember, we teach our children that the freedoms we enjoy were bought with a price, and that we carry a responsibility to be stewards of peace in our own lives.
On Tuesday 28th April our school community will gather in solemn prayer and reflection. Moments like this truly capture the values of St Andrew's, showing our students the power of communal remembrance and respect.
When we stand together in silence, we aren't just looking back at history. We are looking forward, committing ourselves to a world built on the compassion and integrity that the ANZAC spirit embodies.
Regards
Brian Martin
