Inquiry

Our inquiry topic this term is Economics and Business. Our essential question is, “How do choices made by individuals and businesses shape our lives, communities, and environment?” A specific focus for this inquiry will be to investigate how the economy works, including the understanding of key terms such as needs, wants, goods, services, tax, scarcity, supply and demand. Students will explore the history of money and design their own school currency. Near the end of the term, we hope that students will be able to produce their own small business selling a good or service (made from recycled or upcycled materials) that meets a need at our Inquiry Markets which will shape our classroom economy.
