A message from our  Principal

Building Works

Thank you to all staff, students and families for their patience whist we are in the middle of major upgrades and building works that are currently occurring and about to commence. Obviously, it’s a very exciting time for MPPS and we are very grateful to be getting a major indoor gym/ performing arts centre as well as a beautiful new Library and STEAM Centre. Along with that, we will be getting a new roof on our junior building and upgrades to our main building toilets. On the back of the upgrades to our two toilets block – we certainly have been spoilt!

School Nurse

We are very pleased to welcome Clarissa Compagnoni, Diego's mum in Year 2, as our new school nurse. We are very excited to have Clarissa in this role with her extensive medical experience and strong community relationships.

Traffic Management

Just a quick reminder to please be very mindful of student safety at our busy drop off and pick up times. We are so lucky to have multiple entry points at MPPS. We encourage families to walk/ ride where possible, but if driving, Wright and Richardson streets seem to be the most accessible. Page Street has been improved due to the ‘drop off’ zones.  Please be mindful of the "no standing" areas. They are in place to ensure the safety of all. 

Footy Cards

It’s definitely that time of year again! Lots of our students are bringing their cards in for trading. I must say, it has so far been a great trading season. I really enjoy watching and listening to the children of all ages engaging with each other over fun trading as recess and lunchtimes. They are mostly demonstrating our school values of respect and kindness. I see them supporting each other and building strong cohesion around fairness.  At school we are trying to support the students with their trading and any challenges they may encounter. 

Football cards provide lots of opportunities for really deep and rich learning. Through collecting and trading children can learn about empathy, fairness, value, responsibility and respect. The challenges that arise for children when trading can become great opportunities for parents and teachers to foster powerful learning. We are encouraging children not to bring their ‘valuable’ cards to school as they risk losing or damaging them. We also talk to the children about looking after things that are valuable and about fair-trading and ethics.
