Number and Algebra
The children will continue to consolidate their understanding of numbers to 10 and extend this by working with numbers to 20 using concrete materials and Maths games. Their learning will include counting forwards and backwards from different starting points, matching numbers to collections and looking at number patterns Students will learn to order, read and describe the position of ordinal numbers,1st to 10th. They will be involved in learning to represent and model simple addition stories using different materials and partitioning one- and two-digit numbers in different ways using physical materials. Students will also learn to develop skills to problem solve simple number stories and recognise coins.
Measurement
In measurement, students will continue learning about the days of the week, months of the year and seasons. They will learn how to measure, compare and order length, weight and mass using informal units.
