Careers Update

What’s been happening
On Friday March 20, Deakin University visited the school to speak to the Year 11 and 12 students about their university with a focus on the area of Exercise Science. Deakin University are the #1 sport science school in the world.
This was a unique opportunity for students to learn all about what their courses involve, employment opportunities and life at Deakin.
There will be more university visits in Term 2, with focus on different areas of study. With the idea being that the more students hear about the different universities, and what they have to offer the more informed they will be about post school options.

What is Career Development?
Career development is the complex process of managing learning, work and transitions over one's lifespan. Adopting the High 5 Principles of Career Development equips you and your
teenager to approach the process positively.
5. Learning is ongoing
Finishing school is a milestone in our learning, but it is not the end of it! Learning opportunities are everywhere - in formal education, daily life, in the workplace, on the sporting field, doing hobbies, and so on. Learning helps us make the most of our world by developing new skills, improving ourselves, and staying motivated.
This was the last of the High 5 Principles. Term 2 focus will be on having Career Conversations. Enjoy the break
