Dear families,

Student Leadership in Action – GRIP Leadership Conference 2026

Our Grade 5/6 Student Leaders recently had the opportunity to attend the 2026 GRIP Leadership Conference at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre—an inspiring and engaging day focused on developing student voice and leadership capacity.

Throughout the conference, our leaders participated in a range of interactive sessions that explored what it means to be an effective leader within a school community. The day focused on key themes such as leading by example, building positive relationships, taking initiative, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

I was incredibly pleased to be able to attend the conference alongside our students and our Grade 5/6 Instructional Leader, Christina. It was a fantastic opportunity to see our student leaders in action—engaged, thoughtful, and genuinely committed to making a positive contribution to our school community.

Our students represented the school with pride, demonstrating enthusiasm, respect and a strong willingness to learn. We look forward to seeing them continue to grow in their leadership roles and bring their learning to life across the school.

Stop Work

I would like to sincerely thank our families for their support and understanding during the recent industrial stop work.

We greatly appreciated the many supportive emails and in-person conversations. Your understanding of the complexities of the situation, and the respect shown towards our staff and school community, did not go unnoticed.

Moments like these highlight the strength of our community and the positive relationships we share. Thank you for your ongoing support.

Open Afternoon - Thank you

Thank you to all parents, carers and family members who attended our Term 1 Open Afternoon.

It was wonderful to see so many families in classrooms, engaging with students and sharing in their learning. Opportunities like this are incredibly valuable, allowing students to proudly showcase their work and reflect on their progress alongside those who support them most.

Your presence helps strengthen the connection between home and school, and we greatly appreciate the time you took to be part of the afternoon.

Easter Hat Parade

It is not that far away! The world famous Williamstown Primary Easter hat parade. The parade will be held on the front basketball court at approximately 9:15am on the last day of term 1 (2nd April) and is a community event and we would encourage all families to attend. So get your raffle tickets in and come and join us for the fun. We are even expecting a special guest to be in attendance.

Last Day of School Term

A reminder to families that Thursday 2nd April is the final day of Term 1.

Students will be dismissed early at 2:30pm on this day. Please ensure arrangements are in place for pick-up at this earlier time.

We thank you for your support and wish all families a safe and enjoyable term break.

Warm regards,

Mat Montebello
