The conclusion of another year at Camden High is a time to not just reflect on our achievements but also a time to plan ahead for 2026. Over the course of this year students in English have worked towards greater levels of achievement and their parents who have supported their children have played a crucial role in developing their child holistically.
Year 11/12 have submitted their first HSC assessment task for English; demonstrating knowledge of how human experiences are shaped through texts and representing this understanding in an engaging, multi-modal format.
Year 10
Year 10 as part of their Project 10 Week engaged in an escape room activity led by English. Using their collaborative skills, teams worked to solved cryptic puzzles which tested their ability to think critically as well as creatively.
Year 9
Year 9 have been engaged in reading projects and demonstrating their understanding of textual themes through discussion and creative posters.

Year 8 have been highly engaged in a new Thrills and Spills unit. Using Project Based Learning, our Year 8s are designing their own theme park. Working collaboratively to plan, design, refine, and implement their ideas. Students have enjoyed the creative opportunities afforded in English.

Year 7 have rounded out their first year of high school with an exciting, thrill inducing short stories. We encourage wide-reading and it is our hope that our Year 7s have found something worthwhile to read, especially over the Christmas holidays.
From all of us in English, we strongly encourage you to talk with your child about what you and they are reading. We hope that your time spent with your children over Christmas is wonderful and in the new year are prepared for learning with a book for each subject and pens!
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
