Congratulations

Congratulations, Willow Kelly!
Willow Kelly (9 Jenkin) has continued her remarkable rise in junior tennis, securing the 16 & Under Victorian State Singles title in 2025 after winning the 14 & Under event in 2024. This back-to-back success highlights her talent, determination, and standing as one of the state’s leading female junior players.
The State Finals brought together more than 150 of Victoria’s top junior competitors at the Bendigo Regional Tennis Centre from 20–23 September. Willow produced a commanding run through the singles draw, culminating in a convincing 6–1, 6–1 win over Anya Lo in the final. She also reached the doubles final alongside Lotti Macdonald, narrowly going down 6–2, 4–6, [12–10] in a thrilling match tiebreak.
Willow now turns her focus to the 16 & Under Australian Championships qualifying in Launceston, continuing to build her experience following recent International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournaments in Adelaide and on the Gold Coast.
Congratulations to Willow on an exceptional achievement and an outstanding season to date!
Congratulations, Ewan McFadyen and Billy Knight!
Congratulations to Ewan McFadyen (5V Jones, Cello) and Billy Knight (5M Aherne, Viola) who performed with Apprenti Strings at the 17th Annual Resonance String Orchestra concert in Castlemaine on 22 November. Ewan and Billy have been playing with Apprenti since the start of 2025 and have been supported by their tutors to learn and grown as musicians.
This has resulted in huge growth in musicianship and confidence in performing. Ewan and Billy (in Apprenti) played alongside both Resonance String Orchestra and the Flinders Quartet for the opening song of the concert and Apprenti then performed two songs later in the day.
We thank Girton’s own Ms Emma Wade, co-artistic director with Heather Cummins, for the opportunity to play in Apprenti and learn from the wonderful members of the Resonance String Orchestra.
Congratulations, Grace Beattie!
Grace Beattie (6M Jenkin) received a Gold Award for her entry 'Tides of Change' in the Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition 2025. The competition received 53,434 entries from across the 56 member countries of the Commonwealth.
Well done, Grace!
