Leader of Year 7 Wellbeing

Mrs Rachel OÇonnor

As 2025 draws to a close, I would like to take a moment to celebrate the incredible journey our Year 7 students have made this year. Transitioning into high school is no small step, and each of you has shown resilience, curiosity, and a willingness to grow.

Year 7 is often about finding your place, discovering your strengths, and learning how to balance responsibilities. This year has been filled with achievements, laughter, and lessons that will stay with you as you move forward. I look forward to welcoming you back in the new year. With a new Year 7 cohort beginning their journey at the College, I am excited to see our current students become role models for those who follow.

At our final assembly, many students were recognised for their consistent academic effort across all subject areas. These awards were presented to students who demonstrated motivation and a commitment to doing their best at all times, as nominated by their subject teachers. It was a wonderful recognition of what it means to follow the Aloysius way. In addition, a number of students received their Silver Award, given to those who have achieved 45 merits in total or the equivalent of three Bronze Awards. Congratulations to all these outstanding students.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my wonderful Pastoral Team — Mrs Michelle Morrison, Mrs Courtney Fraser, and Mrs Meg Soares — for their continued support and dedication to the students of Year 7. They have done an incredible job in helping all students transition into the College.

Finally, I wish you all a joyful and holy Christmas. Enjoy your well‑deserved holiday break, recharge, and return ready for another year of growth and success. I look forward to seeing you back next year as our new Year 8 cohort.
