Vermont Secondary College
The last 2 weeks of November, our Year 8 Science students take part in a series of hands-on STEAM challenges—such as the Floaty Boaty experiment, the Marshmallow and Spaghetti Tower, and the Marble Run—to develop problem-solving and teamwork skills. Working in small groups, they collaborate, think critically, and share ideas as they test, redesign, and improve their creations.
















Through discussions and creative experimentation, students learn to communicate effectively, explore innovative solutions, and apply scientific thinking in fun, engaging ways.
