Year 7 News

Vermont Secondary College

As we approach the end of the 2025 academic year, it is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on what has truly been an exciting and memorable journey for our Year 7 cohort. Our students have shown tremendous growth—academically, socially, and personally—as they’ve developed greater confidence, independence, and perseverance throughout their first year of secondary school. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and the enthusiastic way they have embraced new challenges.

We are now looking ahead to the next chapter: our transition into Year 8, beginning Monday, 1 December. All students are expected to attend. This transition period is designed to support students as they prepare for the expectations, routines, and opportunities of Year 8. Throughout the program, students will have the chance to meet some of their 2026 classmates and teachers, participate in engaging activities, and begin exploring the knowledge and skills they will build upon next year. The aim is to help students feel confident, informed, and excited about the year ahead.

Following the Transition Program, students will move into our Summer Program, commencing on 11th December 2026. This program will offer a range of enjoyable, fun activities to celebrate the end of the school year. Further details will be shared shortly through Compass Newsfeed, so please keep an eye out for updates.

As part of our end-of-year procedures, we kindly ask that all Year 7 students clean out their lockers no later than Friday, 5th December. Students should ensure they take home all textbooks, uniform items, stationery, and personal belongings. Lockers must be left empty and clean. Any unwanted items or rubbish should be placed into the bins provided throughout the locker areas.

This is an exciting time of transition, and we thank our families for their ongoing support throughout the year. We look forward to seeing our Year 7 students step confidently into Year 8 and continue growing as responsible, capable, and independent young learners.

Warm Regards,

Mrs Caracasidis - Macedon

Ms Richards - Stirling
