Prep Area

Welcome to Prep and welcome to 2026!

We are so excited for our new preps to join Pascoe Vale North Primary School. It has been a fantastic few days of getting to know you activities and settling in. The teachers have been going through the school routines and helping our students become familiar with our school environment.

We began our first few days with some name activities. We traced our names and had a go at writing our names as well as decorating the first letter of our name.

During our second week, we have started to become familiar with some school subjects. The students have been introduced to some letter sounds as well as reading the mentor text 'Starting school'. We have also started our mathematics work with an introduction to numerals from 0-10.

Each day, we have had a focus on discovery play where the students have been getting to know each other through play-based learning. We have been focusing on concepts such as sharing, taking turns and manners.
