Please check for Head Lice

Gallery Image

A number of cases of head lice have been reported within our school community.

Head lice are spread mostly by direct head to head contact but may also be spread by sharing of hats, combs and other hair accessories. Anyone can get head lice.

To prevent the spread of head lice, it is recommended you check your child(ren) daily over the next few weeks and on a regular basis thereafter. Head lice are much easier to treat if caught early.

Please inform the school if your child presents with head lice and ensure they are treated before returning.

Duke of Ed 2026

We are hoping to revive the Duke of Ed program at NCS in 2026.The Duke of Ed is a leading global youth development framework, providing opportunities for young Australians aged 14-24 to fulfil their personal passions and ambitions, and to connect with other people in their community.

Taking part in the Duke of Ed is a life-changing experience, empowering young Australians to learn new skills, get physically active, be rewarded through volunteering and discover a sense of adventure outside the classroom.

The program has four components: service, skill, physical activity and adventurous journey. It requires a minimum commitment of 3 months with approx one hour per week to complete these components.

It is a fantastic opportunity, but also requires perseverance by the participants. There is also a cost involved, but funding may be available for eligible students.

More information to come.

If you are interested and would like more information, please speak to Mrs Wilkinson or Mrs Edwards.

Old football boots wanted!

Gallery Image

If your child/ren have outgrown their football boots, I would love the chance to give them a new purpose! We have a Secondary Zone Touch Football Gala Day coming up this term and several of our students are excited to participate but don’t have the proper footwear. It would be fantastic to collect a few pairs of donated boots to lend out for the event. If you have any old boots you’d be willing to contribute, please send them to Miss Bignell in the PDHPE Department.

Thank you for your generosity!

🚦 Important Road Safety Notice

We wish to remind all parents and caregivers about the "No Right Turn"  sign located at the front entrance of the school.

Please note that this is an official, legally enforceable road sign, not simply a school-regulated guideline.

We have been advised that local police have recently been actively patrolling this area to ensure compliance with the road rules.

We urge all community members to follow the designated traffic flow and adhere strictly to all road signage around the school. Your cooperation is vital for maintaining a safe environment for everyone.

Thank you for helping us keep our school zone safe.

Applications are now open for 2026 School Student Transport Scheme (SSTS) travel

Students in the Opal network applying for an Opal card (including a Term Bus Pass) for the first time will receive their School Opal card at their nominated postal address from mid-January 2026.

Students progressing from Year 2 to Year 3 and from Year 6 to Year 7 need to re-apply.

Where a student meets the new distance eligibility, the system will automatically update their entitlement. If they do not meet the new distance requirements, they will receive an expiry notification.

Students who change address, school, campus location, have repeated a year or received an expiry notification for their school travel entitlement need to renew or update their details before the end of term 4. This will ensure that schools can endorse applications before the end of the year, so students travel entitlement can remain valid for the start of the 2026 school year.

Students who have an entitlement approved under a medical condition that is due to expire will receive a notification advising them to re-apply.

Term Bus Pass holders will receive a notification to re-apply.
