On Friday 28 November, 38 enthusiastic students travelled to Reed Park, Horsley for a full day of competitive touch football. Supported by staff members Mr and Mrs Jolliffe, Mr Terlich, Mr Clarke and Miss Bignell, our teams embraced the warm weather and delivered an impressive display of energy and determination. The atmosphere was electric from the first whistle, and the heat did little to slow down the intensity or enthusiasm across the fields.
A standout moment came from Noah S, who delivered an inspiring speech both at the start and end of the day, uniting the group with strong team pride and setting a positive tone for the entire event. Across all teams, students demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship - encouraging one another, playing with integrity, and representing our school with maturity and pride. Their conduct throughout the day was something to be genuinely proud of.
We also celebrated some fantastic individual achievements. Toby G, Xavier S, Noah S, Chelsea M, Jude McP, Jarrod M and Kent E were selected to represent NCS and the CSSA South Coast Zone at the 2026 CSSA State Touch Football Gala Day - a well-earned acknowledgment of their skill and dedication. Caleb McL was additionally named as a shadow player, marking another strong accomplishment.
Our teams finished the day with impressive results: the Junior Boys team placed third in their division, while the Opens Boys team secured a strong second place. These achievements were a fitting conclusion to our final Gala Day of the year, highlighting the commitment, teamwork and spirit of our students.
We look forward to seeing what 2026 holds as we continue to step into new sporting opportunities. Congratulations to all participating students, and a heartfelt thank you to the staff and organisers whose support made the day such a success!

On Thursday 20 October, the Stage 3 Dragon Tag Gala Day was held in Albion Park for all Years 5 and 6 students. Around a hundred NCS students headed north to meet the St. George-Illawarra Dragons development team who helped run a fun skills and games day for over 400 students from local Christian schools.
The girls had their skill development session whilst the boys played three matches of Oztag against students of similar ability levels.
After a break for some refreshments the students swapped around and the girls played their matches whilst the boys did some skills and drills with the coaches. Much fun was had by all.
The students played with zest and zeal, giving their best efforts in all activities. Most pleasing of all, they played in a wonderful spirit, congratulating their opposition after the matches with '3 cheers' and thanking the student referees.
Some Y6 students reported:
Jasper C: "I liked that we had fun playing and got sausage sandwiches and a can of drink for lunch."
Theo S: "I liked when I scored a try because (my team) were playing very good people and it was hard to score against them."
Amelia H: "I enjoyed playing against other schools even though I was in a social team."
Hannah P: "The thing I enjoyed most were the really fun warm up games."
Thanks to our amazing teachers, aides and chaplain who helped out in so many ways throughout the day.

I like Spring because it's warm
All the flowers and leaves form
Trees are no longer bare
Greenery is what they wear
The birds come out and sing a song
The kids come out and sing along
Spring it the best season of the year
And when it comes all kids cheer!

Spring is amazing
Jumping in the pool
Trying to get cool
Flowers growing and blooming
Spring flowers
Wind dances
Swimming dances
Grass grows, trees too

Year 9 recently visited their friends at Jean Ross House to celebrate the learning journey they have been on together this semester. Students from Year 9 prepared ‘Christmas’ themed activities including trivia, decoration making, connection chains and a mini dance-party. The residents were really excited to hang out with Year 9 again with some saying to each other with big smiles on their faces ‘we’re back at school’.
Many Year 9 students presented Christmas cards to residents they had built connections with. Some students even asked if it would be possible to visit their ‘Old Friends’ in the holidays. The answer is yes! Residents would love visitors over the holidays but visiting students need to be accompanied by a parent or carer.

Reed Park in Dapto hosted a shortened, tense cricket match against Inaburra after rain reduced the fixture to 30 overs per side.
Electing to bat first on a damp astro turf pitch, our innings struggled for momentum against the Inaburra bowlers. The conditions made scoring difficult, but Kent batted a crucial knock, compiling a battling 31 runs to anchor the middle order. Despite his efforts, the team was eventually all out for a target of 91 runs. Inaburra's chase was clinical and swift, reaching the required total in just 15 overs for the loss of only two wickets, securing a convincing victory in the rain-affected encounter.
Our conduct is to be commended, as all the boys competed with determination and great character. We secured the moral victory.

"On Wednesday, week seven, Year 6 went to Jamberoo Action Park, to celebrate the end of primary. It was the best time we had this year! We all enjoyed the rides. We had a terrific Wednesday. We were getting food from the kiosk. We even had the teachers come on the rides with us."

"On Wednesday, Year 6 went to Jamberoo Action Park. On our way up to Jamberoo we all sang our year 6 graduation song and the song Lighthouse. When we got to Jamberoo we signed in, then did our swimming test. Once we all got our bands we went to play. It was very fun at Jamberoo. We even got to see friends from Year 7 orientation day. My favourite rides were The Perfect Storm and The Stinger. It was great hanging out with friends all day. I would love to go back to Jamberoo."
