YOUTH MYKI CARD - Free travel for Under 17's

The youth myki can be purchased for $5 off the transport Victoria website. 

You will be required to create an account if you don't have one already. You also have the option to personalise the card by having a name printed on it.

We recommend doing this before the website gets flooded with traffic and stock runs low. 

Otherwise, premium train stations will start selling them (unregistered) from the 27th of Dec. 

Important things to note. 

Do not top this myki up. 

Do not use them before the 1st of January. 

This myki allows free travel on all modes public transport including vline services. Some vline destinations still require a paper ticket to be booked but will be free to do so.

VILLAGE GREENING

Celebrate sustainable fashion with @village_greening and show off your unique style!

Shop at secondhand stores across Darebin and put together a full outfit. You can leave the clothes as they are, or get creative by decorating or altering them.

You don't have to live in Darebin but you do have to shop at Darebin secondhand shops and you have to be 18 years old and over to enter.

Make a short video showing how you found and styled your outfit – no need for pro skills, just have fun!

Competition closes Jan 2, 2026 so you have plenty of time to get creative! 

The 6 best outfits will be displayed at Fairfield Library in February 2026, and there are great prizes up for grabs for the first and second prize.
