Book Week 2024

Book Week Celebrations

Award-winning author and illustrator Sue deGennaro inspired our Junior School students by reading her books and talking about the creative process. She shared a message about how we best learn through mistakes, as sometimes those mishaps can turn into works of art. Each student drew several of her whimsical characters, including the messy, clumsy and gorgeous hippopotamus chef from We’re stuck!

The Junior Book Week Chapel was led by our Senior School English Captain Teannah Ross (11.13). Students drum rolled as the teachers’, students’, and CBCA winners were announced separately.

Teannah spoke in her devotion about how Bob Graham’s Concrete Garden reminded her of Psalm 133:1 and that some of the best creations take place when we unite as God’s people.

How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in peace! Psalm 133:1

All junior students also received a little package of bookmarks from the Resource Centre to celebrate Book Week.
