Recently the Year 11 Wellbeing Committee launched their “WELLNESS WEDNESDAY” activity.  Taking the opportunity to spread some cheer and positive words of encouragement the goal is to set the mood for people as they commence their busy day.

The committee used their catchphrase "Hard to ask, Harder to stay silent" for the first week and this has been followed by affirmations the committee chose as being the most appropriate to be shared with the school community from year 7 and year 8 students.

A group of Year 7 students came up with "Self-care is giving the world the best of you, instead of what is left of you" and Year 8 provided us with "Don't let yesterday take up too much of today". The activity has proven to be very popular and created some very insightful conversations regarding wellbeing and selfcare across the whole school community. Selfcare means different things to different people but should be part of everyone’s life. The students have enjoyed the many different ways they can enhance and support their own wellbeing through a range of simple activities. The committee are excited and eager to see what the year 9 and year 10 groups submit over the coming weeks.

In addition to “WELLNESS WEDNESDAY” the committee are finalising details for R U OK Day activities which they will be happy to share with you in the next addition of the school newsletter. The committee will be working in collaboration with headspace Griffith for both an activity specifically supporting year 11 prior to their preliminary exams as well as an activity for the wider school community. Exciting times ahead!!!
