If your family is planning some new horizons and will be moving for the 2025 school year, early notification greatly helps our planning of 2025 staffing and class arrangements. Notifying the office of a move as soon as possible is greatly appreciated.
All families are encouraged to participate in the annual Department of Education Parent & Carer Survey. Links and details of how to complete the survey were emailed on August 16, please contact the office if you did not receive this communication. The original survey invitation was sent out earlier this term to the parent or carer listed as 'Parent A' for each household in our system.
We sincerely thank all participants for your time in completing this survey, which generally takes around 10 minutes. Results are collected by the Department of Education and compared to schools across the state, our network and with schools with similar demographics to ours. As such, it forms a very useful metric that we use to monitor our strengths and areas of improvement.
The survey due date has been extended by the Department of Education to the end of Term 3.
Thanks to Team Kids for providing the Fathers and Special People Coffee Van this morning. Special thanks also to Carolyn S for once again putting together the activities for students to do with their Dad or special person. It was wonderful to see so many guests here for this fantastic annual event! See the What's Happening page of this newsletter for photos.
Enormous congratulations to Benson from 5B and Aurelia from 6R for taking out first and third place respectively at the 2024 Mont Albert & Surrey Hills Rotary Club's primary school public speaking competition. Benson & Aurelia's achievement marks the first time in 20 years of entering this competition that we have even achieved a placing - we are so proud of you both.
Attendees at assembly last week heard an encore performance and were left in no doubt as to why they were awarded such high placings, with Aurelia delivering a humorous and inspiring message about the 'hidden' female heroes of the science world, while Benson delivered a kinaesthetic, passionate exposition about his love of being on stage.
Congratulations Benson & Aurelia!
Congratulations to all competitors at the District Athletics today. I popped out and saw a number of our students representing our school with distinction. Many thanks to Mr F for organising the team and to the team of staff and parents & carers present on the day to support our athletes.
Details of results to come!
