ITALIAN

What's been happening in Italian?

As we carry on with our Topic of Discovery, the students are using their research skills to learn more about this wonderful country called Italy.

Years 5 and 6 are researching Italian Food. They have learnt that traditional Italian menus have a set structure divided into many sections.

These are the different courses that they found.

Year 3 and Year 4 students are researching quick facts about Italy.  Facts such as Italy's area, population, climate, products and currency.  The students are making a Spinning Wheel displaying the information found.

Prep-Year 2 have been learning about the country of Italy.  They have learnt that Italy is in Southern Europe and that it is easy to recognize because it looks like a boot kicking a ball.

They learnt that Rome is the capital of Italy and Italy has two big Islands; Sicily and Sardinia. The children colored the Italian flag (verde, bianco and rosso) and discovered what the colors stand for.

Year 1 and Year 2 students have continued their calendar work each day.  They revised days of the week, the month that we are in, numbers and daily weather conditions in Italian.

Well done everyone, keep up the excellent work!
