Year 3/4

What a fantastic few weeks it has been in the Year 3/4 classrooms! Over the past three weeks, our students have been actively engaged in a range of exciting activities and events, showcasing their talents, creativity, and hard work.

A highlight of the term was our participation in the "Kids in Space" day, where our students represented LPS with pride. Our budding young scientists presented their space-themed projects to students and teachers from other schools. Their enthusiasm and knowledge really shone through, impressing everyone with their creativity. Our students even made an appearance on WIN News! It was a wonderful opportunity for them to share their hard work with the broader community and practice their presentation skills in front of a real audience. Well done to all the students involved!

In class, we have been reading the novel Nim’s Island, and after several weeks of adventures with Nim, we’ve reached the end of the story. The students thoroughly enjoyed following Nim’s exciting journey on her island, discussing the themes of bravery, independence, and problem-solving that run through the book. It’s been a wonderful, shared experience that has sparked many conversations.

To round off these eventful weeks, a group of students performed a special Reader’s Theatre at the school assembly. They presented The Three Little Pigs in both spoken English and Auslan, showcasing their impressive reading and signing skills. It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to practice their public speaking and performance abilities while including all members of our school community through the use of Auslan. The audience was captivated by their storytelling, and it was clear the students had put in a lot of time and effort preparing for their performance. Congratulations to the performers for their hard work and confidence!

We are incredibly proud of all our students for their achievements over the past few weeks and look forward to the exciting learning adventures ahead!
