BOOK DAY

Wow, an amazing array of different characters turned up to school yesterday. All the children looked fantastic and participated enthusiastically in all the activities that were ably led by our 5/6 students. The children enjoyed the Perform Education's show 'Maybe A Miracle'  in the afternoon, as they brought three of the Children’s Book Council, shortlisted books to life through dance and drama and reminded everyone of the importance of having a positive mindset.

These days don’t happen without the support of many people.

  1. Thank you parents for your support and assistance in helping your children with their costumes for the day. They looked amazing and this was very evident in our book parade. It was also great seeing so many of you being able to stay for the book parade as well.
  2. Special thanks to our Year 5/6 students who led all the activities. They demonstrated maturity and leadership qualities as they became the 'teacher'.
  3. Plus a big thank you to all the children for your enthusiasm.

Some Book Day reflections from the 1/2s and 3/4s.

The 2024 Book Day was a day to remember. Our first part of the day was the Book Parade. I saw many cool and unique costumes. I was Specky Magee for the day. Our second part of the day was when we were split into groups. In our groups, we went to different activities, such as the spoon people, the shadow spinner and the circle wedges. All these activities were based on different books. After the activities, we watched a performance by Perform Education. It was really good. It was a good day.  - Anthony P. (3/4G).

My favourite part yesterday was the show. Book Day was so amazing. Mrs Gregory did an amazing job putting it together and so did the 5/6s.  -  Kaelyn (3/4G).
