Maths

The students have really enjoyed all of the hands-on tasks during our decimals mathematics unit. It has been great to see how engaged our students are and how they have been reflecting on their success by using the success criteria. We have now started a new topic on measurement, specifically looking at mass and capacity. 

Writing

The students have been working so hard on their spoken word poems for the past few weeks. This piece of writing has definitely provided a challenge for our students, however it has been so nice to see each student bring out their creativity with this different style of writing. This style of writing allows students to use persuasive techniques to engage their audience. Each student chose a social justice issue to create their poem about. We are so very proud of the final products!

Basketball Lightning Premiership 

On Friday the 23rd of August, a group of our 5/6 students attended the basketball lightning premiership day. We want to acknowledge our students for their sportsmanship and efforts on the day. It was great to see so many happy faces, with everyone giving it their best shot. A special well done to the boys team who placed 2nd on the day!
