Our recent Book Week celebration was a resounding success! We were delighted to welcome authors Anna Zobel and Valanga Khoza to our school. Anna Zobel collaborated with children in the 3-6 Hubs to help them plan and create their own stories based on various mysteries. Valanga Khoza shared engaging stories through oral storytelling and music with our Prep-2 children.
Throughout the week, the children crafted stories inspired by whole-school writing prompts. They also enjoyed listening to daily Book Week readings over the PA, narrated by children in the Five/Six Hub.
On Friday, we held our Book Week Parade and were amazed by the incredible costumes inspired by beloved stories. After the parade, we hosted a family writing activity created by children who attended the Melbourne Writers Festival. This activity prompted children to solve the mystery: "What is in the secret door?".
We concluded our Book Week festivities with a fun Book Swap!
We extend our sincere gratitude for your tremendous efforts in making Book Week a memorable success. We are already looking forward to Book Week 2025, "Book an Adventure”.
Congratulations to the following children who finished either 1st or 2nd at the recent Footscray District Athletics Carnival.
