Principal's Message

Mrs Kaileen Carr

Dhuluny (Dhu-loin) is a series of events commemorating the 200 year anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law on the 14 August 1824. Last year students from Eglinton worked with Paul Stafford and Bill Allen to create some short videos which shares some insights into the true history of our country and celebrates the resilience of the Wiradjuri nation. Bathurst Regional Art Gallery are currently presenting a major exhibition which composes entirely of contemporary and historical Wiradjuri artists including the short videos Eglinton students feature in. The exhibition is open for the whole community.

Next week we celebrate Book Week. I am looking forward to seeing all the amazing costumes and seeing community members at school when we open the gates for our parade. See the School news tab for more information about the Book Fair and Parade.

Unfortunately, Amanda in the canteen has had to take some leave. Can I thank both Kerry and Vicki for stepping in and volunteering their time to ensure our canteen remains open. If you have some spare time and you would like to volunteer for the canteen, please contact the office.

Congratulations to Jimmy Osborne who attended NSWPSSA - Boys Touch Football in Wollongong on the 6th and 7th of August. Jimmy enjoyed his time in Wollongong with his team finishing 5th overall.
