Term 3 - Week 4
In Art we have gone Eiffel Tower crazy!! Ms Watson has shown the students her photos of when she was there during the last holidays and we have learnt all about why it was built, what colour it has been and lots, lots more!
Foundation, Year 1 and 2 - The junior students have had fun making scratch art. They filled their whole page with oil pastels, painted over with black paint and detergent and then scratched the Eiffel tower. 'It was sooooooo satisfying!'
We then used some foam to print the Eiffel tower onto coloured paper, which turned out to be very effective.
Year 3 and 4 - The Year 3 and 4 students have been 'Modroc-ing'! They have enjoyed getting their hands messy. They then painted their garden creation.
Once we finished the modroc project, we have been working on an Eiffel Tower piece. This involves tracing an Eiffel Tower, putting tape over it, using special paint techniques, then taking the tape off. Have a look how it is taking shape...
Year 5 and 6 - The Year 5 and 6 students have been working furiously to finish the garden art for the Euroa Community Action Group. The stepping stones and mini houses are currently in the foyer. Please get in and have a look, they have done an amazing job!
They have also been banging away at their string art. String art is a technique where we use little hammers to hit nails into MDF. We thank Sean Hemeter for cutting up all the pieces of MDF for us. The students have really enjoyed this project and appreciate Sean's efforts.
RECYCLED MATERIALS - I am always on the look out for recycled materials for art. There is a fantastic project I'd like to do using cardboard tubes. If you have any, please send them to school. I'm thinking they might come from the middle of glad wrap and aluminium foil. We can't use toilet rolls.
Have a great week.
