From the Principal

When the final school bell rings next Thursday, it signals not just the end of the term but the commencement of a three-week period of rest and rejuvenation. While many of our families will be chasing the sun (or snow) many of our students will use this time to recalibrate in preparation for another six months of learning. Whatever your plans, allow yourself the time to pause and reflect on the vibrant tapestry of experiences that has defined this short yet impactful term, and what lays ahead.
During Term 2 we witnessed the diverse talents and passions that flourished within our school community. We saw the dedication and artistry of our senior girls in "The Halo Effect" and we anticipate an equally wonderful performance tomorrow night at the Year 6 production, The Little Mermaid. We give thanks to the Drama teachers who spend many hours with the girls (and boys from participating schools) to deliver outstanding and engaging performances.
We celebrated Mother’s Day at Kambala with the remarkable women who have and continue to help shape our lives. It was a delight to see all three Mother’s Day school events filled with warmth and gratitude. Kambala has a wonderful community, and we very much enjoy sharing these familial celebrations with you across the school year.
This term both the Junior and Senior School showcased their sporting prowess at their respective athletics carnivals. Combined with a good dose of competitive spirit, the carnivals are always a highly anticipated event in the annual calendar. We have a wealth of sporting interest and talent across the school, and we will continue to encourage all sporting passions as they are proven to increase wellness, pride, and collaboration in our students.
As part of National Boarding Week some weeks ago, the girls held a Friday lunchtime BBQ on the School oval generously supported by the Gill family. This was a fundraiser for Dolly’s Dream Foundation, an organisation who is committed to changing the culture of bullying through education and direct support to young people and families. Thank you to all the staff and students who volunteered their time and energy to this worthy cause.
A couple of weeks ago we announced our 2024/2025 senior school and boarding leaders who will commence their positions in Term 3. The calibre of leadership qualities Kambala girls hold is to be applauded and we give thanks to all those that applied and congratulate those that were successful. Kambala is a community of powerful students with an equally powerful voice.
Please do enjoy your holiday break and we look forward to seeing you in Term 3, for ten weeks of impactful and innovative learning.
