Attendance Matters

2024 goal is to decrease the average number of absence days per student to 20.

Attendance Term 3 Wrap Up & Thank You

We thank you for your continued support in our School Strategic Plan 2023 - 2026, relating to attendance.

We can see that our families have been actively trying to remain conscious about the amount of absences days students have.

Looking at the graph below, the Term 3 (Monday, 15 July - Thursday, 5 September) data shows that:

  • 74.4% of students had less than 5 days absent
  • 17.2% of students had less than 10 days absent
  • 7.2% of students had less than 20 days absent
  • 1.1% of students had more than 20 days absent

This is a great effort, but we encourage you to reduce this in Term 4.  Lets aim to have an even higher percentage of students with 'less than 5 days absent' in Term 4!

Ways to increase attendance:

  • Use the attendance tracker to keep a record/visual of days absent (see attached)
  • Strengthen your daily routine (refer to link for tips)
  • Celebrate birthdays and special events at school with their friends. Leave the weekend/holidays for parties and special activities.
  • Encourage attendance everyday e.g. if your child is not attending an excursion, they still attend school.
  • Come to school/return to school before/after a medical/dental or any other appointment.

*Note- we will share a final tally of Term 3 attendance day via Compass at the completion of Term 3.
