STEM
I'd like to congratulate all the students on a productive Semester One in STEM.
There was lots of investigating, designing, building, testing, and coding going on across the levels and it was great to see the students showcasing their learning in a hands on way.
To finish off the term, the middle and senior students had design challenges with either Dash Robots or Lego Technic.
The 3/4's competed on Donvale Shark Tank to showcase their robot prototypes and try to earn "Donvale Dollars" to expand their business. Quite a few students left STEM on Wednesday with large sums of money (not real money sorry), and it was great to see all the unique designs. I'm putting my money behind a robot that carries your books around from one class to another.
The 5/6's created toys out of Lego Technic and had their peers review the designs to see whether they'd be good enough to be added to our Lego Gadgets kits. Some of the more successful designs was a replica of the school "spinnies", a basketball shooter, and a walking robot.
In 1/2, we've had a bit of fun creating animals with an AI animal generator. Have you even seen a dog-monkey-bird with rainbow feathers? You have now.

In Foundation we left our animal designs up to chance, by rolling a dice and seeing what it chose for us.
Have a great break.
