Music / PA

This term, we have embarked on a new journey of rhythm exploration using our bodies. With the concert production approaching, we are excited about the show and have decided to incorporate lessons allowing every student to practice moving in sync with a specific song using their feet, legs, hips, arms, hands, and head. Additionally, we have begun learning about traditional dances from various Latin countries, including their costumes and music.

Foundation, 1/2

Students in Foundation to Year 2 have been working continuously on their musical and dancing abilities. They have had the opportunity to explore the sounds of minor instruments like the sticks to make a basic rhythmic pattern that everyone can follow. They have also started practising the first steps of the choreography that they will perform at the music production.

Grades 3 to 6

Students in grades 3 to 6 have been enthusiastically delving into the world of hand drum instruments such as the drum 'Bjembe', expanding their knowledge and refining their skills to perform rhythmic patterns in their music classes. Over the past few weeks, students have also been passionate about creating choreography for The music production coming next term. They have been immersing themselves in learning and perfecting traditional dance movements that are characteristic of Latin countries like Colombia, Peru, Chile, Mexico, Argentina, and Spain, as well as drawing inspiration from the dances of Australia.
