ACTIVITY School Concert

Dear Parents,

Our School Concert is fast approaching and it is shaping up to be a fantastic show.

School Concert Rehearsal

On Tuesday, 30th July, 2024, all children K-6 will be involved in a day of rehearsals at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre in readiness for the School Concert.

All children will leave school at 9.15am and will travel by bus to the Entertainment Centre. Children will be involved in rehearsals during the day and have recess from 11.15am-11.40am and lunch from 1.00pm-1.30pm in Machattie Park. We may stagger recess and lunch breaks to maximise the use of the BMEC and Machattie Park.

Children will travel by bus back to school at 2.30pm in time for the end of the day at 3.00pm.

All children will need a packed recess and lunch as well as a drink on Tuesday. For ease of transporting, children are asked to bring their food and drink in disposable bags/packages. All food should be placed in a disposable bag (e.g. shopping bag) with your child's name and class clearly labelled on it. Food will be transported in lunch baskets.

Children should wear their sports uniform to the rehearsal - please ensure that your child's name is clearly written on jumpers.

Children will be under the supervision of all school staff during the day.

Children are asked to come dressed in their sports uniform and have their costumes (if teachers have sent them home) with them to change into at the BMEC.

Children will be under the supervision of all school staff during the day.

For the evening performance on Wednesday, 31st July, children are asked to be at the BMEC at 6.00pm in preparation for the commencement of the concert at 6.30pm. Children will need to have had dinner prior to their arrival at the evening performance. Water and a light snack are advisable for the evening performance.

We expect the Concert to run for 2 hours. Children will be collected from City Hall at the conclusion of the evening performance. Children will wear their costumes home in the evening and are asked to return the costumes to their teachers on Thursday 1st August. There is no need to wash the costumes. We will take care of all washing and packaging after the concert.

The School Concert will be professionally videoed by Greer Productions during the matinee and evening performance. School staff will also be taking photos during rehearsals and the performances for promotional use.

Parents are asked to give their permission in the portal and update any medical conditions by Friday, 26th July, 2024.

If any parent has any queries regarding the organisation for Tuesday or Wednesday, please contact the front office or your child's classroom teacher at school.
