HASS Week

HASS Week is a celebration of Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS). Schools and educational institutions use this week to engage students in activities related to history, geography, civics, and economics.

To celebrate HASS Week, Lumen Christi College conducted many activities throughout the week to promote our learning area. These included:

  • HASS-related posters around the College and digital signage
  • School bell times to match HASS-related songs
  • HASS staff-as-children photo quiz competition
  • In the Discovery Centre, an interactive world map cultural display, WWII Trunk and HASS book were on display
  • HASS staff wore HASS logo shirts and dressed up in famous historical figures
  • Year 7 students created their own water cycle bag
  • Year 8 students competed in a catapult building competition
  • Year 9 had a WWI soldier food tasting test
  • Year 10 completed in an Amazing Race competition

It was an enjoyable week for all students who had the opportunity to celebrate all things HASS. A special thank you to all the hardworking HASS staff for organising such a memorable learning experience.
